"Betonrausch" by director and screen writer Cüneyt Kaya is on Netflix since last Saturday. This movie reveals some important unconscious prejudices buried deep in our consciousness and lays them bare for us.
It shows how one loses sight of the important things through an excessive fixation on wealth and material goods. Comparable titles like "Breaking Bad" and "The Wolf of Wolfstreet" may enter the viewer's mind that share some essential points with Kaya's work.
When one of the protagonists forces a group of serious businessmen with name and status to sing by threatening them with firing them, the viewer becomes aware that there are people that can change the system according to their own desires and ideas as long as they have the power. The silly scene has a far deeper connotation than one assumes at first glance.
The casting is very well done, the trio harmonizes brilliantly and allows the viewer to become invested in the story. Despite being a drama, there are funny situations and humorous dialogues.
All in all is it a well done, suspenseful film that holds a mirror up to our society and asks us to think more deeply. Must-watch.

The first german movie I truly enjoyed watching. It's funny that I seem to be one of the few who did not connect similarities to Wolf of Wall Street. This was something different.
Thumbs UP. We are one of the few that don't overload your project is, thereby let users to watch any video without ads and sending SMS messages, which is often used by cyber criminals in order to capitalize on unsuspecting citizens. This is by far one of the worst movies I have watched lately. I expected something like "Bad Banks" since the topic of fraudulent real estate transactions can be interesting and thrilling. But the director and the script didn't manage to live up to the expectations. The script is super bad and shallow, the actors are mediocre and the way the topic was approached is so full of nonsense that I was barely able to watch till the end. From time to time there was even a feeling of embarrasement creeping in. As another review already stated, none of this would have ever worked out the way it was protrayed. I do not believe this is based on a true story, it's too easy, too dumb. Corrupt court employees, corrupt bankers? Bribery? In germany? Seriously, I still feel embarrased by the thought of this infantile plot. The 'story' is just a combination of weird events (e.g. the lovely main chracters decide on a company take-over in next to no time in a brief meeting and force the attendants - employees of the just 'acquired' company - to sing "Oh du Fröhliche" just seconds later or else they'd get fired - yeah it's that bad. and can't believe I watched it till the end.
I'll give this 2 stars as the main character was pretty cute and his suits were easy on the eyes.
